CT State Government Work Update: Early Childhood Education

The Blue Ribbon Panel on Child Care was initiated by Governor Lamont’s Executive Order. The charge of the Panel is to outline a data-driven, actionable, 5-year strategic plan for CT that supports family needs, business needs, and prioritizes equitable access to early care and education. For more information please visit the CT OEC BRP webpage.

Beth Bye,Commissioner for the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood, has been committed to ensuring that the Early Child Care and Education strategic plan is developed with input from stakeholders that works for families, providers, and Connecticut’s economy. SVP CT staff, Dr. Monisha Gibson and Jen Gerber, along with The Hunt Institute and a team from Social Finance, have been serving as lead advisors in this work. This outreach process has included several months of input and iteration from workgroups, advisors, stakeholder meetings, and public sharing sessions. To date, Commissioner Bye and the team with support from SVP CT have reached 2,179 individuals throughout Connecticut! The outreach process by the numbers:
