It was announced today in the Connecticut Mirror that Connecticut’s Office of Workforce Strategy will receive $24 million in federal funding to expand job training programs that have struggled to meet demand amid a shortage of skilled workers in the state.

In response, Mark Argosh, Executive Director of SVP Connecticut and Chair of the Connecticut Governor’s Workforce Council released the following statement:
“This significant investment in Connecticut will lead to the creation of countless jobs for our residents,” said Argosh. “Connecticut received the largest grant in the nation, a testament to the hard work and commitment of all those involved.”
