The Office of Workforce Strategy (OWS) announced the official launch of CareerConneCT.
n
This launch would not be happening without the 20,000 volunteer hours that SVP Partners contributed toward developing and implementing the state’s workforce strategy and building the capacity of nonprofits and community colleges to deliver these training programs.

CareerConneCT, OWS’s flagship initiative, will begin with a $70M investment aimed at getting people back to work in high-quality, in-demand, careers.
nn
CareerConneCT is awarding grants to innovative workforce development programs that help unemployed people, historically marginalized groups, and students prepare for high-demand, high-quality careers.
nn
CareerConneCT is focused on:
n
Reskilling and Upskilling: Continuous learning and job training are essential.
n
Inclusiveness and Effectiveness: Helping propel worker success while advancing social equity.
n
Mutual Success: This win-win program helps students, workers, and Connecticut thrive by uniting employers, workforce development boards, secondary- and post-secondary institutions, and community and economic organizations.
nn
This program will train 10,000 people for sustainable careers in health care/life sciences, information technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, and clean energy jobs in CT.
